Do you need more art?
The short answer is yes, you do. We all do. What does art do for us? It helps us dream, inspires us, leaves us in awe and gives us a sense of our place in the world. It can also comfort and console us and give us strength in hard times.
It’s hard to share your art. It’s scary and exposing. But if us artists didn’t share our work, the world would be a much less colourful and exciting place. We would be doing a disservice to our fellow humans by not sharing our paintings and creations. We need to create art and people need to see it.
Also it’s so much easier now to find high quality art which you absolutely love. There are so many brilliant artists showing their work online nowadays and promoting themselves with their own websites. They have devoted followers and art collectors watching and waiting for the artist’s emails to drop into their mailboxes. If you see an artist online who you love sign up to their newsletter (you can sign up to my newsletter here). You can also email or dm (Instagram) them if you see a painting you want to purchase. I have included some of my paintings in this blog for a bit of eye candy and you can view more of my paintings right here to get you started.
Art is easy to follow online but there’s nothing like owning a piece of art and seeing the artist’s hand at work close up whether it’s a painting, a piece of ceramics or a sculpture. If you want to see more original art, seek out local museums and galleries, pop into an artist’s studio or attend the many open studios and events that are in every town and city.
If you find an artist online who you absolutely love don’t be worried about asking them if you can see an original artwork by them or come and visit them in their studios. We’re a pretty shy lot too but come out of our shells when you contact us and we love to talk about art! Also artists are sometimes happy to give you cards, stickers and business cards so you have a little printed piece of their work for free. If you want to join my secret free art club go here
